Introduction
Are you an engineer looking to master the future of technology? If you want to bridge the gap between Communications Engineering and Data Science while studying at top European technical universities, the CoDaS (Communications Engineering and Data Science) Master’s program is your perfect match.
This prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) is fully funded by the European Union and offers you the chance to earn a double degree from two leading universities. Here is everything you need to know to apply for the next intake.
What is the CoDaS Program?
The Master of Science in Communications Engineering and Data Science (CoDaS) is a 2-year (120 ECTS) joint program designed to produce graduates with expertise in 5G/6G networks, Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT, and Network Security.
The 5 Consortium Universities:
- 🇫🇮 Aalto University, Finland (Coordinator)
- 🇩🇪 TU Braunschweig, Germany
- 🇫🇷 Grenoble INP-UGA, France
- 🇵🇹 Técnico Lisboa, Portugal
- 🇪🇸 UPC BarcelonaTech, Spain
What Degree Will You Receive?
Graduates receive a Double Degree, meaning you get two separate diplomas, one from your first-year university and one from your second-year university.
- Aalto University: Master of Science (Technology)
- Grenoble INP-UGA: Master Mention Informatique
- Técnico Lisboa: Mestre em Engenharia Eletrotécnica e de Computadores
- TU Braunschweig: Master of Science (M.Sc.) Computer Science
- UPC BarcelonaTech: Màster Erasmus Mundus in Communications Engineering and Data Science
Program Structure & Mobility
You will study in two different countries.
- Year 1 (Foundations): You choose one “Home University” (Aalto, Técnico Lisboa, TU Braunschweig, or UPC) to learn the basics of math, programming, and data science.
- Year 2 (Specialization): You move to a “Host University” to specialize and write your thesis.
Specialization Tracks:
- Grenoble INP-UGA: Communications, Data Science, and Security.
- Técnico Lisboa: Communications and Data Science.
- Aalto University: Communications, Automation, and Machine Learning.
- TU Braunschweig: Communications, Machine Learning, Medical Informatics & Biomedicine.
- UPC BarcelonaTech: Communications, 5G/6G, IoT, and Data Science.
